Been through a lot but that doesn't stop me from hoping, dreaming, loving & living. Still quests for wisdom, still thirts for knowledge, still believes that the best things are yet to come. Concerned with pushing boundaries of self-discovery. Execises power through emotion, instinct, intellect & love. Not a natural socializer but keeps friendship in an entire lifetime. Dominating but can accept some restrictions in order to win in the end. A power house of pride & self-will. Passive-aggressive.

Taboo!

'Twas Seph's birthday last 4th & I went straight to their house right after my shift.

I thought meeting up with them (with Emmy & Raquel as well) will be one way to de-stress.

But hell, I was wrong.

Why?

Coz for the whole night, when we got off to Quel's house to sleep over, Seph talked about one of the taboo topics in my industry - politics.

I've been a certified oposition for the longest time in my life.

But I respect those who believed otherwise, those who belong to the other side of the fence.

If someone miraculously believed that the other party could save this nation, why not?

That they will be the country's Messiah, so be it.

To each his own, right?

I just don't buy his idea, that on the top of his senatorial lists is one of the most corrupt politician I knew.

And we kept on arguing about it.

Guys, our right to vote & our right to good government doesn't end tomorrow.

If you're still concerned where this country's heading to, for Christ's sake, let's all do somethin' bout it.

Thank God, I Did It...

Yeah, I passed.

Thanks to those who wished me good luck. And for those who've prayed.

Donna, Sandy, Ilene, Yam, Mac & Kristine, for sure you'd all be missed.

For others, we can do this another two-week PST thing.

I'll miss my caffeine rush in Insular.

And our break-out zones - pantry & bathroom, where else?

An Apple Mango and on Being Assertive

I don't know how will be I able to connect the title with my blog but just the same, I will try....

I crunched half of an apple mango after my super late beef steak dinner upon arriving from my shift @ quarter past twelve last night.

Coz you see, I've got this cravings for something just before my period starts but hell, who would want to know bout it, ayt?

According to Gen, our trainor, one of the things that we should learn bout being a soon to be 'entertainment consultants' is to be assertive.

It's like having a bag (slowly getting off with my 'mother hen' title.I am now tagged as 'bag lady!) full of confidence.

He asked us to take this assertiveness test & I scored 70%. Not bad, huh!

Are you a human doormat? Do you say "yes" when you mean "no"?
Do you keep your opinions to yourself for fear of upsetting or starting an argument with others?
Assertiveness is the ability to formulate and communicate one's own thoughts, opinions and wishes in a clear, direct and non-aggressive way.
When we were babies, vulnerable & unable to defend ourselves from the dangers of the world, it's our parents who protect us.

Slowly, with time, experience and the right guidance, we learn to stand on our own two feet, both literally & in another very important way - we learn to look out for ourselves.
We begin to realize that we have some power over what happens to us and if we don't speak up for our personal personal rights, it's very seldom that someone else will.
