Dear Santa, Let Me Explain...

This has nothin’ to do with my blog, hehe!
It just so happened that I saw this in a shirt I almost purchased last Saturday.
Sure, you don’t wanna ask it’s color.
Gosh, it’s in bloody red which doesn’t make sense to me.
Am sure it won’t complement with my complexion.
Yeah, I love the color red for it represents love & passion, happiness & prosperity.
It’s hot.
It's a strong color that conjures up a range of seemingly conflicting emotions from passionate love to violence and warfare. Red is Cupid and the Devil.


Nature of Red:
A stimulant, red is the hottest of the warm colors. Studies show that red can have a physical effect, increasing the rate of respiration and raising blood pressure.
The expression seeing red indicates anger and may stem not only from the stimulus of the color but from the natural flush (redness) of the cheeks, a physical reaction to anger, increased blood pressure, or physical exertion.

Culture of Red:
Red is power, hence the red power tie for business people and the red carpet for celebrities and VIPs (very important people).
Flashing red lights denote danger or emergency. Stop signs and stop lights are red to get the drivers' attention and alert them to the dangers of the intersection.
In some cultures, red denotes purity, joy, and celebration. Red is the color of happiness and prosperity in China and may be used to attract good luck.
Red is often the color worn by brides in the East while it is the color of mourning in South Africa. In Russia the Bolsheviks used a red flag when they overthrew the Tsar, thus red became associated with communism. Many national flags use red. The red Ruby is the traditional Fortieth Wedding Anniversary gift.

Using Red:
Use the color red to grab attention and to get people to take action. Use red when you don't want to sink into the background. Use red to suggest speed combined with confidence and perhaps even a dash of danger. A little bit of red goes a long way. Small doses can often be more effective than large amounts of this strong color. Multiple shades of red and even pink or orange can combine for a cheerful palette.

Language of Red:
The use of red in familiar phrases can help a designer see how their color of choice might be perceived by others — both the positive and negative aspects.

• Red carpet treatment - make someone feel special, treat them as if they are a celebrity
• Roll out the red carpet - same as above
• Red sky in the morning, sailor's warning; red sky at night, sailor's delight - pay attention to good and bad warning signs

'Everyone's Favorite'

Today, am wearing a maroon Abercrombie baby tee with slogan 'Everyone's Favorite' which I purchased last payday. 'Coz you see, I've got a lotta A & F stuff in my closet...jacket, baby tees, shorts, camisole, girlie blouses, sleepwear.

But for now, and since I'm a quote person, I've collected a bit from Maya Angelou & thought it would be nice to slap some of them in here.
They're nothing fancy but enjoy anyway. And hope it would be everyone's favorite as well..

As You Go Through Life....

Set your own pace........When someone is pushing you, it's ok to tell them they're pushing.

Take nothing for granted........Watch water flow, the corn grow, the leaves blow, your neighbors mow.

Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive........Rest isn't a luxury, it's a necessity.

Listen to the wind blow........It carries a message of yesterday and tomorrow........And now.........Now counts.

Rest on your laurels........They bring comfort whatever their size, age or condition.

Talk slower. Talk less. Don't talk. Communication isn't measured by words.

Give yourself permission to be late sometimes........Life is for living, not scheduling.

Listen to the song of a bird........The complete song. Music and nature are gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.

Slow down. God is still in heaven........You are not responsible for doing it all...yourself... right now.

Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past........Rest there. Each moment has a richness that takes a lifetime to savor.

Quit planning how you're going to use what you know, learn or possess........God's gifts just are. Be grateful and their purpose will be clear.

When you walk with someone, don't think about what you'll say next........Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.

Talk and play with children........It will bring out the unhurried little person inside you.

Create a place in your home...At your work....in your heart...where you can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it.

Take time to think........Action is good and necessary, but it's fruitful only if we muse, ponder and mull.

Make time for play........The things you like to do. Whatever your age, your inner child needs re-creation.

Watch and listen to the night sky........It speaks.

Listen to the words you speak........Especially in prayer.

Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders........ There will always be new opportunities for you to step out in front again.

Divide big jobs into little jobs........If God took six days to create the universe, can you do any better?

Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed and efficiency........The best musician is one who plays with expression and meaning, not the one who finishes first.

Take a day off alone........Make a retreat. You can learn from monks and hermits without becoming one.

Pet a furry friend........You will give and get the gift of now.

Work with your hands........It frees the mind.

Take time to wonder........Without wonder, life is merely an existence.

Sit in the dark........It will treat you to see and hear, taste and smell.

Once in awhile........Turn down the lights, the throttle, the invitations. Less really can be more.

Let go......Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do...but often it is the best.

Taste your food........God gave it to delight as well as nourish.

Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set........They are remarkable for their steady pattern of movement, not their speed.

And as you ramble on thru life my dearest friend........Keep your eye upon the doughnut, and not upon the hole.

Afraid to Risk?

Ever afraid to take a risk?
Afraid to commit because of an uncertain future?
Afraid of failing?
Not that anyone would wait an entire life before taking a chance, but do you tend to wait until all possible risks are minimized before setting out in a new direction?

Though caution and common sense are certainly important, sometimes a risk is called for.
William Arthur Ward wisely said:

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk revealing your true self.
To place you ideas, your dreams, before a crowd
is to risk rejection.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk disappointment.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard
in life is to risk nothing.
Those who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing,
and become nothing.
They may avoid present suffering and sorrow, but they
will not learn, feel, change, grow, love, or live.
Chained by their fear, they are slaves who have forfeited
their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.
The pessimist complains about the wind;
The optimist expects it to change;
And the realist adjusts the sails.

Eating the Cookie

Happiness was "having the cookie."
If you had the cookie, things were good.
If you didn't have the cookie, life wasn't worth a
damn.
Unfortunately, the cookie kept changing.
Some of the time it was money, sometimes power,
sometimes sex.
At other times, it was the new car, the biggest
contract, the most prestigious address.

When you give someone a cookie, he is happy.
If you take the cookie away or it breaks, that
someone will be unhappy.
It will takeyou too long to understand that the
cookie will never make that someone happy for
long.
The minute you have the cookie it starts to
crumble or you start to worry about it crumbling or
about someone trying to take it away from you.
You know, you have to give up a lot of things to
take care of the cookie, to keep it from crumbling
and be sure that no one takes it away from you.
You may not even get a chance to eat it because
you are so busy just trying not to lose it.
Having the cookie is not what life is about."

What's important?
What is really important?
Well, life is important.
Life.
Life any way you can have it.
Life with the cookie.
Life without the cookie.
Happiness does not have anything to do with the
cookie, it has to do with being alive.

Moms

this is beautiful. For those of us who aren't, this is
even more beautiful. For those who are moms, you'll love this.



The young mother set her foot on the path of life.
"Is this the long way?" she asked.
And the guide said: "Yes, and the way is hard.
And you will be old before you reach the end of it. But
the end will be better than the beginning."

But the young mother was happy, and she would not
believe that anything could be better than these years.
So she played with her children, and gathered flowers for
them along the way, and bathed them in the clear streams; and
the sun shone on them, and the young Mother cried,
"Nothing will ever be lovelier than this."

Then the night came, and the storm, and the path was
dark, and the children shook with fear and cold,
and the mother drew them close and covered them with her mantle,
and the children said, "Mother, we are not afraid,
for you are near, and no harm can come."

And the morning came, and there was a hill ahead,
and the children climbed and grew weary,
and the mother was weary.
But at all times she said to the children,
" A little patience and we are there."
So the children climbed, and when they reached
the top they said,
"Mother, we would not have done it without you."

And the mother, when she lay down at night
looked up at the stars and said,
"This is a better day than the last, for my
children have learned fortitude in the face of hardness.
Yesterday I gave them courage.
Today, I 've given them strength."

they lifted her, for she was as light as a feather;

You see, it’s more than just another long day ahead…
It’s God’s way of reminding you that He cares & loves everyone of us…

Actually, it’s just an usual early morning text from a friend, but this one from Dess made me ponder on some things:

The first time I got glimpse of Mandi Gabriel – Malet & Divine’s first-born, I felt shivers tru my spine.
I don’t know why am I so drawn to babies.
Maybe, that’s one beauties of life.
That when you first hold a baby & look into those little eyes, you know that you are holding a miracle.
You are looking at one of the great mysteries of the universe; a glimpse of Heaven and the creative power of God.
There in my arms is tangible proof of the love God has for me.
I find my friends so fortunate for He has chosen them to be a parent of a new soul. A baby is believed to be such a blessing, gift, reward & heritage from God.
An evidence of His love & sovereignty.
Baby does not start from "zero."
He begins somewhere within the mystery and workings of God in the spiritual realm.

I’ve got so many plans & programs in mind regarding our Alumni homecoming.
I just really hope it would materialize.

1. I’d want to present an audio visual presentation on how our school transformed from day one up to now. If possible, interviews from the first principal to the present. As well as testimonials from the succesful alumni.

2. Like I would wanna have an Distinguished Alumni & Outstanding Young Alumni Awards – highest awards presented by the Association in honor of Alumni who have contributed distinguished service to the school.

3. Scholarship

4. Teacher of the Year Awards

5. Job posting service

6. Alumni Journal

7. Seminars on career mentoring program. Career path, insights, internships & advice.


I’ve met with Mam Beck & Mam Cez last Saturday - again to see Malet & Divine’s bouncin’ (wait, is he a ball in the first place, hehe?) baby boy.
I fetched them at the school after their meeting.
They said that they’ll make me ‘reto’ to a certain engineer.
Know what, they’re the ones who’s so ‘kilig’ for me, huh!
As for me, well…I’ve been single for 14 months already & wala naman sigurong mawawala if I try.
But since, I’m in the middle of a ‘crisis’, complications of bein ‘ in a relationship is the least that I need right now.
